Trying something new

Enemies of truth.— Convictions are more dangerous enemies of truth than lies.

Friedrich Nietzsche

This is the first post on my new blog. I’m just getting this new blog going, so stay tuned for more. Subscribe below to get notified when I post new updates. The whole goal of this blog is to explore society and modern thinking and figure out how that relates to me. So much of what society is, and seems to be becoming, seems outside the scope of normal human understanding.

Sometimes I’ll be writing about philosophy, whether it be my own thoughts are my reaction to the thoughts of others. At other times I may review a book or movie because ultimately Philosophy covers a lot more than the typical college course. Philosophy is in it’s own way an art, and I see no reason to limit how I decide to explore the thoughts and ideas that go through my head and that I experience around me.

Sometimes I’ll write my own response to what someone else has written. All too often the internet is cluttered with writing that is supposedly done by professionals and yet is really just a collection of logical fallacies. So much in life can’t be proven true or false, or at least you can’t convince people it’s true or false, but an argument can be valid or invalid without ever speaking of whether the content is true.

All in all I simply mean to use this as a place to document my thoughts and if one day someone reads them and feels like responding, then that’s fine. I’m also okay with nobody ever finding this, and it being a minor side project in my life meant to be relaxing and a way to practice my thinking and writing.
